Alumni association
Introduction to the Alumni Association of School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture,Peking University
The School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at Peking University carries forward a profound academic heritage and educational mission. Originally established as the Peking University Institute of Landscape Architecture, it has consistently focused on cultivating leading talents in architecture and landscape design since its inception. To date, it has trained over 1,200 postgraduate students at master's and doctoral levels. These distinguished alumni, driven by their founding commitment to ecological civilisation and professional aspirations, have made their mark both domestically and internationally. They have dedicated themselves to specialised fields including landscape planning and design, cultural heritage conservation, territorial spatial planning, and urban-rural ecological restoration, emerging as pivotal forces in advancing industry development and societal progress.
To harness alumni strength and establish a mutually beneficial platform, the Peking University School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture Alumni Association was formally established in 2014. Professor Xi Xuesong served as its inaugural president, with the association's secretariat housed within the school to coordinate all alumni activities. Since its inception, the Association has steadfastly upheld its mission of ‘connecting alumni, serving alumni, empowering the industry, and giving back to the alma mater.’ It is dedicated to building a global alumni network that facilitates academic exchange, experience sharing, and resource integration among members.
Through years of development and accumulation, the Association's organisational structure has continually refined. It has now established well-developed regional chapters in economically vibrant, industry-concentrated areas such as the Pearl River Delta, Southwest China, the Suzhou-Hangzhou region, Shanghai, and Nanjing. Leveraging regional industrial strengths, these branches routinely organise diverse alumni activities. These initiatives not only strengthen emotional bonds among alumni but also build bridges for industry-academia-research collaboration, injecting robust momentum into alumni development and sectoral innovation. Furthermore, the Alumni Association actively showcases distinguished alumni achievements, disseminating their exemplary stories to foster the collective spirit of the ‘Yan Yuan Landscape’ community. This endeavour consistently channels alumni wisdom and strength towards advancing the university's academic development and contributing to societal ecological progress.
