The re-examination consists of two parts: an in-person written test and an in-person interview.

1) Written Test

This assesses candidates' accumulated knowledge from prior studies and practice, research capabilities, critical thinking, and communication skills. It aims to identify candidates with a solid foundation, precise conceptual understanding, and strong learning, working, and thinking habits. Please bring your standard drawing tools; no drawing board is required.

2) Interview

Candidate Self-Presentation. Each candidate must prepare a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 10 slides in advance. The presentation should detail the candidate's academic and research background, understanding of Peking University's School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, insights into the discipline, as well as their research plans and future career goals. The PPT format should be 16:9 with clear content and concise slides. The self-presentation should not exceed 8 minutes. Following the presentation, the interview panel will not immediately pose questions regarding the content.

All candidates must submit their self-presentation PPTs by March 22, 2025, at 10:00前提交发送邮箱地址cala2025@163.com. The file size must not exceed 30MB. Requests to update the PPT will not be accepted. Name the PPT file with your full name. Email subject line: “Full-time/Part-time Re-examination + Name”

.English Proficiency Assessment. Under the guidance of examination staff, candidates will randomly select an English-language test question and respond in English to questions posed by the interview panel.

Specialized Question Exchange. Under the guidance of examination staff, candidates will randomly select a Chinese-language specialized question and promptly answer the selected question.

Additional Academic Discussion. Based on the review of the candidate's application materials, self-statement during the interview, and responses to specialized questions, participating interviewers may pose targeted questions to the candidate. These questions may cover any aspect and aim to assess the candidate's academic interest, mastery and application of fundamental knowledge and concepts, breadth and structure of knowledge, attention to, understanding of, and analytical skills regarding practical issues, as well as language expression and communication abilities. Candidates engage in discussions with the interviewers in Chinese.

Throughout the interview, candidates should respond proactively and positively to faculty questions, demonstrating their knowledge and critical thinking abilities.

IV. Calculation of Re-examination Scores

1) The written re-examination paper is scored out of 100 points, with a passing score of 60 points.

2) The interview re-examination is scored out of 100 points, with a passing score of 60 points. All participating faculty members score independently, and the average of all scores constitutes the individual interview score.

Comprehensive Re-examination Score = Written Test Score × 50% + Average Interview Score × 50%

3) The candidate's comprehensive score is calculated as follows:

Initial Examination Total Score / 5 × 50% + Re-examination Total Score × 50%

4) Admission: Candidates who pass both the written test and interview will be admitted based on their comprehensive scores in descending order until all available spots are filled.
