III. Re-examination Content and Procedures
The re-examination consists of an in-person written test and an in-person interview.
1) Written Test
This assesses candidates' comprehensive professional foundation, learning habits, research approach, and work ethic. It aims to identify candidates with solid fundamentals, precise conceptual understanding, and strong language, learning, work, and thinking habits. Bring standard drawing tools; large equipment like drawing boards is not required.
2) Interview
Candidate self-presentation. Each candidate must prepare a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) of no more than 10 slides in advance. The presentation should detail the candidate's academic and research background, understanding of Peking University's School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and professional career plans. The PPT format should be 16:9 with clear content and concise slides. The self-presentation should not exceed 8 minutes. Following the presentation, the re-examination panel will not immediately ask questions about the content.
Self-Presentation PPT Submission: Candidates must submit their PPTs by 9:00 AM on September 18, 2025, to 发送邮箱地址pkucala2024@163.com. Email subject line: “2026 Recommendation-Based Admission Re-examination PPT + Name + Undergraduate Institution Name”. The PPT must not exceed 10 pages (including the cover page; no separate acknowledgments page is required; the final page should be a summary of the presentation) and must not exceed 30MB in size. It must be in PDF format; requests for PPT updates will not be accepted. The PPT file must be named as “Name + University.”
Content Requirements: Closely align with application materials, including but not limited to: - Academic achievements, design practice, and research experience - Understanding of Peking University's School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (e.g., academic fields, reputation, faculty research areas, publications) - Ongoing engagement with the discipline - Personal professional interests, strengths, aesthetic sensibilities, career aspirations - Short- and long-term career plans (not a three-year study plan)
English Proficiency Assessment. Under the guidance of proctors, candidates randomly select an English-language exam paper and respond in English to questions posed by the interview panel.
Specialized Question Exchange. Under the guidance of proctors, candidates randomly select a Chinese-language specialized exam paper and promptly answer the assigned question.
Additional Specialized Discussion. Based on the review of application materials, the candidate's interview self-statement, and responses to specialized questions, participating interviewers may pose targeted questions to the candidate. Questions may cover any aspect, aiming to assess the candidate's professional interest, mastery and application of fundamental knowledge and concepts, breadth and structure of knowledge, attention to, understanding of, and analytical skills regarding practical issues, as well as language expression and communication abilities. Candidates engage in discussions with the interview panel in Chinese.
During the interview, candidates should respond proactively and positively to the panel's questions, demonstrating their knowledge and level of thinking.
IV. Grading and Admission
1) The written re-examination paper is scored out of 100 points, with a passing score of 60 points.
2) The interview portion is scored out of 100 points, with a passing score of 60 points. All participating interviewers score independently, and the average of all scores constitutes the individual interview score.
Total Re-examination Score = Written Score × 40% + Average Interview Score × 60%
3) Admission: Candidates must pass both the written and interview components. Admission is granted sequentially based on the highest re-examination total scores until all available spots are filled.
4) Candidates failing either the written or interview component will not be admitted.
