Persevering in Hard Work to Uphold Our Founding Mission: Learning from Comrade Yin Yuzhen, National Model Worker, in Desertification Control and Greening

To deepen the study of the Party spirit of ‘persevering in hard work and remaining true to our founding mission’, on November 26, 2025, the Office of the Provost of Peking University, the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences of Peking University, and Wushen Banner, Inner Mongolia jointly organized a sharing session on the desertification control endeavors of National Model Worker Yin Yuzhen. The Student Party Branch of the College of Landscape Architecture organized student Party members and active members to participate in the session, collectively studying the moving story of Comrade Yin Yuzhen—National Model Worker and desertification control hero—who transformed vast stretches of desert into tens of thousands of acres of oasis. Following the session, the Party Branch organized a discussion and study meeting. All participants unanimously agreed that Comrade Yin Yuzhen serves as a relatable role model and an exemplar whose achievements are both learnable and actionable. Her story inspires everyone to ground their work in their specialized fields, remain steadfastly practical, write their academic papers on the land of the motherland, and apply their designs where the people need them most. Her example stands as a vivid textbook for Communist Party members in the new era to practize their original aspirations and missions, and to uphold the principle of ecological conservation for the people.
