Collaborating  Background


To better promote local socio-economic development and guide students in contributing to traditional cultural preservation, comprehensive construction of beautiful villages and towns, and the building of a moderately prosperous society through social practice, both parties establish a strategic relationship of mutual service and win-win cooperation based on the principles of university-local collaboration and shared development.



Scope of Cooperation


Establishment of Social Practice Base. Peking University designates Xixinan Town as a student social practice base, conferring the title ‘Peking University School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture Teaching and Social Practice Base.’ The university will organise students to conduct social surveys, practical teaching, theoretical research, graduation internships, volunteer services, international exchanges, and other teaching and social practice activities. Xixinan Town shall provide necessary conditions to support the school's teaching and social practice activities.

Think Tank Consultancy Services. Xixinan Town will commission Peking University to undertake research on overarching, strategic socio-economic development and urban-rural planning topics aligned with local needs. The School will mobilise resources to actively participate in these projects.

Cadre Education and Training. Xixinan Town designates Peking University as its cadre education and training base, entrusting the School to provide timely theoretical training and professional capacity development for government officials. Experts will be invited to deliver specialised training programmes or lectures tailored to practical work requirements.

Academic Exchange and Feedback. Based on social practice activities, both parties shall periodically organise seminars involving faculty, students, and local officials. The School shall promptly share relevant social practice outcomes with Xixinan Town.

Anchored in the preservation of Huizhou traditional culture and the development of beautiful villages and towns, this collaboration establishes a tripartite university-local partnership model integrating ‘teaching practice + think tank services + talent training’. Leveraging Peking University's disciplinary strengths, it supports local socio-economic development and traditional cultural heritage, creating a demonstrative model of university-local synergy for rural revitalisation.
