Research on the Top-Level Design of Building a Beautiful China and Advancing Ecological Civilisation

Project Overview: Centred on constructing a Beautiful China where humanity and nature coexist in harmony, this study identifies current challenges including inadequate ecological infrastructure, insufficient ecosystem services, unhealthy production and lifestyle patterns, and the need to strengthen environmental education. Corresponding solutions are proposed: To address inadequate ecosystem services, it emphasises prioritising nature through national ecological restoration to restore healthy ecological processes, thereby enabling cities to access high-quality ecological services; concerning unhealthy production and lifestyle patterns, it advocates practising the principle that ‘lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets’, promoting behavioural change through reduction, recycling, regeneration, and encouraging green travel; regarding environmental education, it recommends integrating ecological conservation content into national education systems, training programs, and mass spiritual civilisation initiatives. These interconnected challenges and solutions form the overarching framework for building a Beautiful China.
