I would like to express my deepest condolences on the passing of Professor Kongjian Y

Although I had the chance to know him only through his published work and the moving words shared by Ambassador Daniel Duitzin, his vision left a profound impact on me. As a researcher at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), and together with the team led by Dr. Claramunt, we had already begun considering ways to join the cause of the Sponge Planet an idea that we believe is not only scientifically sound but urgently needed for the future of our planet

Professor Yu’s work transcends disciplines. His vision was bold, humane, and grounded in a deep understanding of nature and resilience. His proposals offered not just technical solutions, but a path forward for humanity a true “Art of Survival.”

Though his departure is a tremendous loss at a crucial time, his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. I feel a deep sense of responsibility to carry forward the ideas he championed and to honor his memory through thoughtful action and commitment to the cause he so passionately advanced.

Rest in peace, Professor Yu. Thank you for your light, your courage, and your enduring contributions to our shared future
