Our deepest condolences to Professor Kongjian Yu's family, colleagues, and friends for his sudden and tragic departure. We will all remember him as a kind person, as a teacher, a professional, and a researcher who made our world greener and better.
All our landscape architecture colleagues and their students from around the globe will remember Kongjian and continue his mission to make our landscapes livable and in harmony with nature.
We will always remember Kongjian’s brilliant presentation at the IFLA 52 Congress in St. Petersburg in 2015, which was very inspirational.
I was honoured to work with Dr. Yu on the competition for the concept of Zaryadye Park in Moscow in 2013. This proposal was an eye-opener on revolutionary Kongjian’s vision of wetlands and the Sponge City.
Just a month ago, we enjoyed Kongjing’s presentation at the IFLA 61 Congress in Nantes. It was an excellent speech.
Professor Kongjian Yu will Always Be Remembered.
Sincerely,
Maria Ignatieva and colleagues from URBIO, the International Network “Urban Biodiversity and Design, and St. Petersburg State Forest Technical University
Dr. Maria Ignatieva
Professor of Landscape Architecture
