We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our dear friend Kongjian Yu. He was an absolute role model for me and for generations of landscape architects and urbanists committed to improving conditions for people around the world. He was a tireless advocate for the role of landscape in addressing our cascading social, political, and environmental crises. He was a generous teacher, inspiring mentor, and charismatic visionary. I was fortunate to see him only two weeks ago at IFLA in Nantes, France where we joined Henri Bava and landscape architects from around the world. Tragically, we will not see the likes of him again, anytime soon. R. I. P. my friend.
