I am heartbroken to learn of Kongjian Yu's (@kongjianyu_turenscape) death yesterday in a plane crash in the Brazilian wetlands, right around the time that I was presenting his work to the Architecture Club in London. Here he is in the q+a session after his talk, when I invited him in 1999 to speak as part of a lecture series @columbiagsapp. I have put a link to his stimulating and important talk in my bio. We will deeply miss his great and generous presence. He was an incredibly important and committed figure, dedicated to preserving and clarifying the ecological health of our planet through the art of landscape design at a very large scale.
