I mourn the loss of an influential and generous humanitarian spirit, memorialised through his inspirational archive, which celebrated his birthplace and home in rural China. His courage in shouldering high risk solutions in a century of rapid urbanisation and space exploration, was inspirational. He projected hope and positivity from his earliest student writings with good humour, a loyal servant of his country and of the world.
