As a professor of applied ecology and landscape historian, I was apparently the first to translate some of his texts into French for distribution in my country (see "Landscape as the Art of Survival").
It is a tremendous loss for all those who appreciated his work and all he did to improve the lives of his fellow human beings.
I would have tried to convey the full meaning of his thoughts in France to a whole generation of students and future landscape engineers.
He will be remembered, even in Paris and Chaumont-sur-Loire.
