I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Professor Yu Kongjian, the brilliant mind behind the Sponge City Concept, which changed how we approach urban resilience. Professor Yu helped us champion urban nature program under the Global Platform for Sustainable Cities. I have such vivid memory of visiting his projects and the discussions we had about how to advance the work on urban nature.
