Diana Wiesner悼俞老师

I am a landscape architect and activist in Bogotá, Colombia very committed to working with edge communities and to creating inclusive and ecological designs. The first time I met Professor Yu was in Zurich in 2010, and the last time was just a few weeks ago, this September 2025, in Brasília. In 2011, I had the opportunity to visit some of his projects in China.

I had the honor of serving as Jury Chair for the Jellicoe Award, when we unanimously decided to grant him the prize — an experience that allowed me to study his work more profoundly. I have always admired his life story and the way he approached landscape as an elogio a la vida. He was one of the few who managed to truly influence landscape policy and bring about real change in cities, inspiring so many—especially the citizens who enjoy his projects every day.

Konjian: We will continue spreading your powerful message and carrying forward your legacy. Your vision transformed the way we understand landscapes, water, and cities, and it deeply touched all who had the privilege to learn from you. Honoring your life means keeping your voice alive in our work and in the generations to come.
