In Memory of Kong Jianyu

We remember with deep respect and gratitude Kong Jianyu, a visionary and a true advocate for nature-based solutions. He was meant to be one of our speakers at NbS Asia hosted by ILAM, and although he could not be with us in person, his spirit, ideas, and dedication remain very much present.

Kong Jianyu believed in the power of design to heal—connecting people, nature, and cities in harmony. His work continues to inspire practitioners, students, and communities across Asia, reminding us that resilience is found in learning from and working with nature.

As we carry his vision forward, we honor not only his contributions, but also his passion and generosity. His legacy lives on in the landscapes we create, the solutions we champion, and the communities we serve.
